bearRobert Carriker is in his forty-fifth year of teaching at Gonzaga University where he has twice won scholar awards.

Dr. Carriker is on sabbatical from December 2012 to September 2013.

Since January 2003 he has been the Alphonse and Geraldine Arnold Distinguished Professor of the College of Arts & Sciences.

Together with his wife, Eleanor, he has published on a variety of topics, but most notably in the fields of Jesuit missionaries, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and the Columbia River.
