Robert Carriker is in his forty-fourth year of teaching at Gonzaga University where he has twice won scholar awards. 
Since January 2005 he has been the Alphonse and Geraldine Arnold Distinguished Professor of the College of Arts & Sciences.
Together with his wife, Eleanor, he has published on a variety of topics, but most notably in the fields of Jesuit missionaries, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and the Columbia River.
