Biographical Description: Dr. Mara London joined the Department of Civil Engineering at Gonzaga University in 2009 after earning her Ph.D. in Civil (Environmental) Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Her master’s and doctoral research focused on bioremediation of perchlorate-contaminated water. Her current research interests include treatment of water, wastewater, and contaminated sites. She has advised several sustainability-focused student research teams working on water treatment, biofuel, and cook stove projects in developing countries. 

Dr. London teaches the following courses at Gonzaga University: Environmental Engineering, Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Physiochemical Treatment Processes, Biological Treatment Processes, and Sustainable Systems and Design.
