Kyle Smith

Professional Experience

Kyle Smith is a guitarist and educator currently living in Spokane, WA.   He has a Masters degree in Jazz Pedagogy, and a Bachelors degree in music from Eastern Washington University.  Kyle performs regularly around Spokane with the Spokane Jazz Orchestra, Don Goodwin’s Instant Super Power, Various Jazz Combos, and the Bob Curnow Big Band. 

Kyle appears in recordings with Lock and the Chris Wilson 5, Lindel Reason, and The Bob Curnow Big Band.  As a member of the Bob Curnow Big Band, he records for the yearly Demo CD for Sierra Music Publishing. 

As a student at Eastern Washington University, or as a member of the Spokane Jazz Orchestra, Kyle has performed with many jazz artists, including Nnenna Freelon, Dianne Schuur, Andy Martin, Dave Pietro, Bill Holman, Rich Perry, Pete McGuinness, and James Miley.  As a member of the Jazz Guitar Society of Spokane, Kyle has performed with Bobby Broom, Jimmy Wyble, Corey Christiansen, Tim Fischer, and John Stowell in a clinic setting.
