bearRobert Carriker is in his forty-sixth year of teaching at Gonzaga University where he has twice won scholar awards. Since January 2003 he serves as the Alphonse and Geraldine Arnold Distinguished Professor of the College of Arts & Sciences.

Together with his wife, Eleanor, Dr. Carriker has published on a variety of topics, but most notably in the fields of Jesuit missionaries, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and the Columbia River.
