Andrea Dawson

Professional Experience

Andrea has lived in Spokane since 1992, and has been teaching Private Voice in the area since 1998.

She is on the Music Faculty at North Idaho College, Mukogawa Fort Wright Intsitute and Holy Names Music Center, in addition to running her own private vocal studio in the greater Spokane area. Andrea is the soprano soloist at St. John's Cathedral and has been a member of the Spokane Symphony Chorale since 1992.

She has performed with the Bach Festival Chorus, Connoisseur Concerts, Allegro's Baroque Festival, Opera Buffs, Spokane Opera, Opera Plus, Windsong as well as several smaller ensembles. She has been a guest soloist with the Spokane Symphony and has performed internationally with the Ensemble Singers in Bermuda.

Andrea is involved with the Spokane Children's Theatre, Lake City Playhouse, Spokane Civic Theatre and Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre as Musical Director, Choreographer, and performer. Roles include, Christine in Phantom, Miss Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Kathy in The Last Five Years, Rapunzel in Into the Woods, and Johanna in Sweeney Todd.
She is a member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) where she serves as Regional Governor for the Inland Empire Chapter and keeps busy adjudicating vocal contests and competitions, including EWMEA's Solo & Ensemble, the Stillwater Music Festival (Montana) and NATS Student Auditions.
