Christopher Grant
Professional Experience
Chris is an active arranger and composer of percussion, wind and string literature. He has written music for numerous schools throughout Washington State as well as South Carolina that includes works for marching bands, percussion ensembles, drum and bugle corps and drumline.
Chris is the principal timpanist with the Coeur d'Alene Symphony and both a board member and performer with the Spokane British Brass Band. He has played drums for many regional rock and jazz groups including Kari Marguerite and the 76, Pink Tango, The Working Spliffs and The Rhythm Commission.
He has also performed in past with the Omak Symphony, Tuxedo Junction Big Band, Milonga, Jazz Northwest, Straight-Ahead Jazz Quarter and the Idaho-Washington Symphony.
Chris is currently the Vice-President for the Washington State Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society (PAS) and a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAFME).
Chris proudly plays Pro-Mark sticks and mallets.
