Professional Experience

Max Mendez, baritone has been active in opera, oratorio, musical theatre, & cabaret. A California native, he has sung for such opera companies as Los Angeles Music Center Opera, Opera Pacific, and Long Beach Opera. He has sung the roles of Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, Dandini in La Cenerentola, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Schaunard in La Boheme. He has frequently sung the concert works of Handel, Fauré, Vaughn Williams, and Duruflé. He has performed with Opera Pacific, the Los Angeles Music Center Opera, and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

From 1995-1996 Max was an apprentice artist for Opera Pacific. In Spokane, Max has been involved with the Northwest Bach Festival, the Westminster Chamber Orchestra, and Spokane Opera, where he was featured in Man of LaMancha, and La Canterina. He has also been heard as a soloist for the Gonzaga Chorale and the Eastern Washington University Choirs.

Max is the newly appointed Music Director at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in Spokane, Washington.
