Dr. Ted Nitz teaches world, Middle Eastern, Islamic, and modern European history, and is the director of International Studies for Gonzaga University. His research focuses in the Weimar Republic in Germany and especially on the local history of the Nazi Party in Hessen-Darmstadt. Before beginning his doctoral studies at Washington State University in 1991, he served in the US Air Force for 23 years and had the opportunity to live in Germany and the Republic of Turkey, while traveling throughout Europe and parts of the Middle East.
