Ms. Schupman has a degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Oregon and an Artist Teacher Diploma from the Association of Choral Music Experience. She holds membership in ACME, ACDA, MENC, and Chorus America.

Tamara Schupman has been a music educator in varied environments, from Kindermusik to Professional Choruses. She presently teaches K- 6 in Spokane District #81 at Browne Elementary. Other teaching posts have included General Music in Montgomery County, MD and Naperville, IL outside Chicago. Schupman was the Music Director of the Spokane Area Children's Chorus for 10 years, and MD of the Oak Park River Forest Children's Chorus outside Chicago for 2 years. While in Chicago, Schupman began the Children's Choir at Holy Name Cathedral, where she also sang in the professional core of the Chamber Singers and conducted the Women's Schola. She was Gunther Schuller's assistant for 10 years, preparing the professional choir for the NW Bach Festival and continues to sing in that choir as well as perform solo work for the Festival.

She also served as Education Chairman and later President of Connoisseur Concerts which produces that event. She enjoyed many years as an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Whitworth College. Schupman also served as the Chair of Research and Standards for both Ethnic & Multicultural Music, and Children's Choirs for the Washington State American Choral Directors Association.

Tamara is also a busy professional singer. This past year she's had the honor of performing roles in La Cage Aux Folles and Les Misérables in Coeur d'Alene, ID, and The Great American Songbook I at CenterStage in Spokane. She is the soloist for the 1st Church of Christ Scientist and for The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Spokane. Schupman hopes to begin a Women's Chorus in Spokane soon. In her spare time, she meditates and sleeps!
