Consulting

Most of my colleagues and I provide various kinds of consulting.

For example, if you are looking for guidance or consulting on policy, the effects of policy on students and student achievement, or for guidance and consulting regarding school self-studies, my colleague, Chuck Salina (313-3643), is a great person to contact.

Chuck Salina and Suzann Girtz (313-3400) consult with school districts on program reviews for at-risk students.

Too often, consultants don't get called in until things are pretty dicey. As a result, consulting can be an emotionally painful type of work for everyone. So, the type of consulting I try to promote is pro-active, much like an annual check-up rather than a midnight trip to the emergency room.

Accordingly, the consulting I do is with leadership teams to help clarify individual orientations to decision making and individual approaches to ethical decision making so that people learn more about working with their colleagues before an incident evolves into a crisis. If you want help in dealing with a seemingly intractable issue, or a crisis, Al Fein is the person to call. If you want to understand and deal more effectively with the ethical compromises that arise from the complex organizational and interpersonal demands of leadership, or how you and your team might choose among ethical approaches to decision-making as you face the difficult choices you make every day, please give me a call.
