Summer 2005
CHEM 230 & 230 Lab will meet twice a week during the first summer session 2005. Lecture will be Tu/Th 8:00-11:00 a.m.; lab will meet 1:00 - 4:00 p.m, also Tu/Th. Classes begin Tuesday May 17, and continue for six weeks (ending Thursday June 23).
CHEM 230 Organic Chemistry I (3 semester credits)
Essential concepts in bonding and structure, acid-base concepts, and functional groups and nomenclature, followed by a study of the theory and mechanism of some fundamental organic reactions. Taken concurrently with CHEM 230L. Together, CHEM 230 and 230L satisfy one of the essential areas of study for secondary teaching certification. Cost was $440 per credit hour in 2005.
CHEM 230L Organic Chemistry Laboratory I (1 semester credit)
Preparation and analysis of representative organic compounds. Two labs per week for 6 weeks. Costs were $440 per credit hour in 2005 plus an $85 laboratory fee.
